I read documentation that it requires a valid key to switch to enterprise and fully activated with the E3 license. WE have the E3 licenses for activation but devices aren't automatically flipping over to subscription activation from KMS. Although I believe the key that was inputed into that config is the old KMS key.ĭevices have KMS key with the activation error (cannot reach KMS server) because our KMS server doesn't exist anymore. This includes creating a config profile to upgrade windows from pro to enterprise.
We've since mostly migrated to Intune for management of all of our Windows devices.
This has since been decommed.Īll users have MS E3 licenses WITH the Windows Enterprise Subscription SKU is a part of our E3 licenses. Current products on the Software Center that allow KMS activation are Windows 10 Enterprise. Previously we had a KMS server activating Windows. Microsoft products without user intervention.
